  • Chairman: Allan Bierzynski, F.C.C.A.
    Allan Bierzynski has been Managing Director of Jonas Browne & Hubbard (Grenada) Ltd. since 1997, having joined that company as Finance Director in 1986 after several years working with public accounting firms in Grenada and St. Lucia. He is a past president of the Grenada Chamber of Industry & Commerce, and serves as a volunteer on the boards of the Grenada Community Development Organisation and the Grenada Planned Parenthood Association. A former Director of the National Commercial Bank of Grenada and of the National Insurance Board, he is now a Director of Caribbean Microfinance (Grenada) Ltd. and a member of its Audit Committee.

  • Secretary: Desmond D Simon
    Mr. Simon has over 10 years working experience in the area of economics banking and financial matters at the regional and national level. Over the years, he have been actively involved in developing national policy recommendations for consideration and deliberation at the highest levels, including the Cabinet of Ministers, the respective Ministers of Finance in the CARICOM Region, as well as stakeholder forums comprising officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank (WB), the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) and the OECS and the Commonwealth Secretariat. His work experience at the External Relations Unit (ERU) and the Financial Enterprise Development Department, (FEDD) at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, (ECCB) and currently, at the Economic Development Policy Tax Administration and Research Department (EDPTA&R) at the CARICOM Secretariat has accorded him first-hand experience and a general understanding about developments in the banking and financial sectors. Mr. Simon is a Saint Lucian by birth and have been a lead team member tasked with the responsibility of inter alia, convening meetings/discussion/consultations at the highest levels, on important financial sector issues such as those relating to Banking and Capital Market Developments; including the establishment of the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange (ECSE) and the Regional Government Securities Market (RGSM). Mr Simon have also been at the forefront of initiatives aimed at enhancing capacity development at the national and regional levels through CIDA and USAID supported programmes, as well as the lead expert with key responsibility for a multi-million dollar fund, aimed at fostering socio-economic and other developments in the Region.

  • Nicolette M. Doherty B.A., LLM
    Nicolette Doherty is a graduate of the University of Kent, Canterbury, England and Georgetown University, Washington D.C, in the United States, where she obtained a BA in Law and a Masters Degree in International and Comparative Law. She is a member of Middle Temple Inn of Court in London, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales and she is a practicing member of the Bar of Antigua and Barbuda. She has acquired extensive practice experience in several jurisdictions, primarily in relation to commercial matters. She has developed a successful commercial practice in Antigua where she represents a leading financial institution and other domestic and international corporate clients in the field of private sector development, including trade, investment, real estate and tourism related development projects. Ms. Doherty has acted as a consultant to Caricom and has participated in consultative group sessions to assist government and development agencies define appropriate policy frameworks and strategies for the development and promotion of international financial services and investment initiatives. She currently serves as a member of the audit committee of Global Bank of Commerce and Caribbean Union Bank, in Antigua and Barbuda.

  • Mrs. Michal Yvette Andrews
    Mrs. Andrews holds directorships on several Boards including First Citizens Bank of Trinidad and Tobago, First Citizens (St. Lucia) Ltd, The Unit Trust Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago, The Belize Unit Trust Corporation (Chairman), St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC), L.J Williams Ltd. (a Public Company) and M & J Services Limited (a Private company). She is a member of the Audit Committee of First Citizens Bank's as well as that of L.J. Williams Ltd. . A qualified accountant with 32 years of practical experience mainly in the area of taxation, she has developed substantial local, regional and international expertise in this area. She is a former Commissioner of Inland Revenue and was responsible for the implementation of the Value Added Tax regime in Trinidad & Tobago. She has also assisted other countries in preparing for the implementation of their VAT systems namely Barbados, Belize, Zimbabwe, Puerto Rico, St. Vincent, Dominica, Grenada and Guyana. Mrs. Andrews is a former Principal/Partner of Ernst & Young and headed their tax practice in Trinidad & Tobago. She was a part time lecturer in taxation for the MSc Accounting at UWI's Department of Management Studies and also served as a member of Trinidad and Tobago's Double Taxation Negotiating Team. Mrs. Andrews holds a BSc in Accounting, a postgraduate Diploma from Harvard University's International Tax Program, is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a member of the institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago (ICATT).

  • Dr. Michel Jack Antoine Brahim RA
    Dr. Michel Jack Antoine Brahim RA, age 53, currently is the CEO of the Fernandes Group one of the largest private enterprises in Suriname which comprises several business units, with production varying from soft drinks to bakery to ice cream. Michel Brahim is on the Supervisory Board of De Surinaamsche Bank NV (DSB Bank NV) and represents also the HAKRIN Bank of Suriname. Michel is member of the audit committee of the supervisory board of DSB Bank. Michel has studied economics at the university in the Netherlands (Katholieke Universiteit Brabant) and also became a Certified Public Accountant (Registered Accountant) and a Tax Auditor (Rijksaccountant) in the Netherlands. Before joining the Fernandes Group Michel has worked for years in audit and was the audit partner at Tjong A Hung, Accountants, an associated firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Good Governance, Corporate Governance and related topics are of special interest.
